The four types of local government are counties, municipalities, school districts, and special purpose governments. Counties concentrate on law enforcement, keeping records, administering courts, and some public works. Municipalities are known as a city or town. School districts provide for local education. School districts are created by the state to help deliver educational services at the local level. Special purpose governments are financially independent of other local governments. Special purpose districts provide for one or two services like fire protection and water. However, in some cases they provide for more than just two services. The two major categories these local governments fall under are city and counties.
The four type of local government in South Carolina are counties, municipalities, school districts, and special purpose governments. Counties are essentially administrative arms of state government to provide a local presence of the state government to assist in administering courts, law enforcement, keeping records and some public works. Special Purpose government typically provides one or two services, such as fire protection or water. School districts are local education services in the United States. Municipalities are known as city or town. All of these local governments are formed to provide service to people. The two major categories they fall under are state and counties.
There are four types of local government which consist of counties, special purpose governments, school districts, and municipalities. Counties are a local presence for state to assist in administering courts, law enforcement, keeping records, and public works. Special Purpose governments provide one or two services such as fire or water. A school district is a type of special purpose government that specializes in local public education. A municipality is an actual town or city in the state. The two major catergories that these local governments fall under are city and counties.
All of you got the 4 types, but none got it that they fall into 2 categories, those that are general purpose governments that can provide a range of services, and limited or special purpose governments that only provide one or two things. School districts, for example only provide education.
